Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and strange video. Katie eagerly accepts the job with cash and clearance. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera – surely just an elaborately staged fiction. But when this first job leads to even more productive work and disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to crumble. Strange figures in his apartment, horrific nightmares that keep him awake, and a mysterious illness that affects his cat. It is only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she learns how cruel her nameless employer really is and how much she herself wants to get out of her contract.
